At Renaissance Maternity Center
we strive to educate and empower
women
during pregnancy and as they prepare for birth. Our
Childbirth
Preparation class is designed to do just that. This class
series
will
help prepare women for a natural birth center, home, or hospital
birth. Class size is limited to ten people. This
allows for
group
discussion and keeps an intimate atmosphere. During the six-week course
we will explore such topics as:
Preparing for Birth
Labor and Birth Process
Variations and Interventions
Postpartum Issues
Relaxation Practice
Comfort Measures
Basic Breastfeeding Instruction
Newborn Care
Babywearing
Cost:
$200.00 ($75 deposit required upon registration)

We meet on Monday evenings from 6:30-9:00 at Renaissance Maternity
Center

This class session is designed for working parents or those who live outside the Tulsa area. We will cover the topics that are essential for a natural birth in the birth center, home, or hospital. Baby and Toddler Sign 101
Did you know you can communicate with your child before they learn to use speech? Research shows that signing can assist hearing children with their speech development. In addition, you are introducing a second language to your young child! Our two-hour Baby and Toddler Sign 101 class will equip you with basic information and signs to use with your little one. This class is taught by Heather Forrest, DEM, a former sign language interpreter. This group is for those who are wondering what birthing out of the hospital is all about, who are currently planning an out-of-hospital birth, for those who have done so, and for those who simply want to support this birth option. Doula Service
Preparing for the birth of your baby is a special time in your
life.
The doulas at Renaissance Maternity Center are skilled in
helping you with those preparations. The word "doula" simply
means
"woman caregiver". A doula is educated about pregnancy,
labor/birth,
and breastfeeding. She provides much needed support during
pregnancy
and the birth process. Research clearly shows us the many
benefits of
having a doula present:- Reduction in pain medication requests by 30%
- Reduction in the need of Pitocin by 40%
- A 50% reduction in cesarean rate
- Shortens the length of labor by 25%
- Lower stress level
- Reduction in the incidence of Postpartum Depression
The Doula Service at our center is available for a fee of $400.00. Included in that fee is:
- Three prenatal visits
- Phone and/or email support during your pregnancy and for three weeks postpartum
- 24/7 On-Call service beginning three weeks before your due date
- Continual support during labor and birth
- Up to two hours of support immediately postpartum
- Assistance with initial breastfeeding
- One postpartum appointment
